The first EU-ISMET meeting will be held next September in Ghent, Belgium. From Thursday, September 27 till Friday September 28, 2012 this 2-day event will provide an interaction platform for European researchers, engineers and students working in the field of microbial electrochemical technology and at the microbe-electrode interface. The state-of-the-art of this technology will be presented by oral or poster presentations. Furthermore, leading researchers will give their view on the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Organized by the International Society for Microbial Electrochemical Technologies, EU-ISMET will be an opportunity to contact industrial partners. In addition to this meeting, a preceding 1-day training workshop will be organized at September 26th, and will focus on the training of current electrochemical techniques used to characterize biocatalyzed systems.
Bioelectrogenesis Group will attend EU-ISMET with four presentations that are representative of their research lines: physiology of electrogenic microorganisms, environmental microbial electrogenesis and electrogenic bioengineering. Bioelectrogenesis will be also present through the Bacwire stand, in order to show the progress of this 7FP project.
